Vintage White Orange and Blue Ironstone 11" Platter - "Chequers" by Johnson Brothers

This is a lovely, simple and elegant serving platter. It is the perfect size for serving a main course or vegetables in a casual dinner setting. Its octagonal shape is accented by a border of raised sets of dots surrounded by transferware lines and dots of green, orange, and blue, a color palette that coordinates with lots of different styles. It would also make a unique addition to a plate wall arrangement for wall decor.

The platter is stamped "Johnson Brothers Made in England A2" on the back. This specific pattern is called "Chequers" and was only produced in 1983, making it hard to find. It is in excellent vintage condition, with very little loss of transfer color, no chips or cracks, and no crazing visible. It has been gently hand washed.
