Vintage Pastel Blue & Pink Crossed Tulips Quilt, c1930

Lovely vintage quilt in soft pastel colors and attractive floral pattern.

MATERIALS

The quilt is in the Crossed Tulips pattern, with pieced blocks of 4 crossed tulips in pastel blue and pink. Hand quilted in white thread. White setting blocks and sashing, with quilted floral motifs throughout. Hand finished white binding; solid white backing. Lightweight cotton batting.

CONDITION

Very good vintage condition. Light fading in some of the blue fabrics. There are a few spots of light color transfer from the blue fabrics to the white; thus, quilt was not washed. Free of odors. Light yellow spot to back. One small brown mark to lower right block on front. Otherwise no major damage.  Please review all photos.

AGE

Exact age unknown. Likely circa 1930 based on fabrics and batting used. From a private collection in West Des Moines, Iowa.

Measures 88" x 71".
